The Minister of Jihad of Agriculture pointed out that Iranians have been interested in planting trees since the past and stated: People's support is a strong support for the implementation of planting one billion trees, and we will go ahead with planting trees with the help of the people in order to increase the vegetation cover, this plan is called "plan "People planting a billion trees" is a prelude to planting more saplings in the country, and it is expected that we can move along this path with the people and other sectors that have the task of planting trees.

He added: Owners of industries, mines, armed forces, municipalities, Basij, non-governmental organizations, students, student associations, artists, athletes, etc. can play an important role in making this plan operational.

Sadati Nejad said: The highest amount of sapling production in the country's nurseries was 40 million saplings, and we hope to produce more than 250 million saplings annually in the country by renovating the nurseries with the help of people, industry owners and benefactors.

He stated that if one billion trees are to be planted in about 4 years, we should produce 250 to 300 million saplings annually, he clarified: This year, during the natural resources week, we should plant 40 million saplings with the participation of people, which is a kind of record and in Next year, we will reach 250 million seedlings, which is the goal of the plan.

The Minister of Jihad of Agriculture announced the design of an online system for the purpose of monitoring the place of tree planting on the map with the name of the planter.

He pointed to the concern of academics and environmentalists regarding the provision of water for planting one billion trees and said: With the change of planting season, the production of forest and multi-purpose species resistant to water scarcity, the planting of species compatible with the climates of the regions, the use of green water (rainfall) and gray water (wastewater) and using watershed science in the form of comprehensive watershed management, we can achieve this goal.
