Jafar Vahdat added on Saturday in the coordination meeting of the implementation of the production jump plan in West Azerbaijan rainfed fields: The production jump plan was supposed to be implemented in 280 thousand hectares of West Azerbaijan rainfed fields, which so far is about 69% of the farms with an area of 291 thousand 500 hectares of the lands of the province below Autumn cultivation of dry crops is over.
Referring to the 3.8% increase in the level of crop insurance compared to the previous crop year, he added: Since the beginning of the current crop year, 149,105 hectares of farms in the province have been covered by crop insurance, which is from the total of these levels. More than 128,000 hectares of farms have been insured in the form of the implementation of the production jump plan in rainfed fields.
Vahdat stated: The number of tools absorbed and delivered to the production jump plan in the rainfed fields since the beginning of the crop year is 255 devices worth 33 billion and 838 million tomans, and this trend is still going on.
In this meeting, the head of the agricultural jihad organization of the province, referring to the cultivation of 1,200 hectares of camellia in the fields of West Azerbaijan, said: "There is a need to cultivate camellia oilseeds due to its affordability and economy with the use of educational and promotion programs in the province." be developed
Khosrow Shahbazi stated: Increasing production per unit area, increasing productivity in the production of rainfed crops and developing the cultivation of alternative plants, especially fodder plants, oilseeds and medicinal plants, are among the most important goals of implementing the plan to jump production in rainfed areas.
West Azerbaijan has 800,000 to 900,000 hectares of agricultural and garden lands with an annual production of 6.5 million tons.
