Gorgan- The supervisor of horticulture management of Golestan Agricultural Jihad organization announced the production of 30 million pots of all kinds of flowers and ornamental plants in the province.

According to Mehr news agency, Navid Reza Farhani stated that last year more than 30 million plants of ornamental shrubs, flowers and seasonal ornamental plants were produced and grown in Golestan province, saying: Golestan province has more than 1,700 species. A native plant with special geographical conditions and special climatic diversity is one of the best destinations for the production and cultivation of flowers and ornamental plants in Iran.

He added: Currently, the production and cultivation of flowers and ornamental plants in the form of pots, tree seedlings and ornamental shrubs are being carried out in an area of over 37 hectares of greenhouses and 50 hectares of open space.

Farhani continued: Directly and indirectly, about 2,500 people are engaged in growing flowers and plants in these spaces, and from this level, 30 million flower pots are produced annually with the aim of supplying the markets inside and outside the province.

The head of horticulture management said: Considering the many potentials of the province and the proximity to the northern borders of the country and the ease of export, we can achieve a suitable position in the export by developing open space and greenhouse cultivation of flower products and ornamental plants.
