Good luck in the public meeting: farmers' demands will be paid soon

The Minister of Jihad of Agriculture said: We have made follow-ups to pay most of the farmers' demands within the next one to two weeks.

According to Dehghan News, quoted by Mehr, Mohammad Ali Nikbakht, during the public meeting of the Islamic Council and during the review of the report of the Agriculture, Water, Natural Resources and Environment Commission on the policy of the trustees in the field of management of the wheat and rice strategic goods market in the country, said: Regarding wheat, I must say that in the crop year 1401-1402, we had about 2 million hectares of irrigated crops and nearly 4 million hectares of rainfed crops.

He continued: "According to the water conditions we had, the purchase of wheat exceeded 7,500,000 tons today, and according to the statistics of the previous year, on this date, we had a nearly 30% increase in the purchase of wheat." This year compared to 1400, we had an 82% increase in wheat production. Our forecast is to exceed 8 million tons by the end of the harvest season and the time of purchase and set a new record in the last few years.

Nikbakht emphasized: We will definitely import less wheat this year compared to previous years, and this will result in currency savings for us. Our plan is to increase productivity and intelligence with knowledge-based agriculture, increase performance in wheat production, and we gave the responsibility for this work to the Agricultural Research, Education and Promotion Organization.

The Minister of Jihad of Agriculture said: Until today, for the purchase of this year, nearly 112 hemat worth of wheat has been purchased, of which 66 hemat has been paid, and we had better conditions than last year. We have followed up to pay most of the farmers' claims within the next one to two weeks.

He stated: "For the crop year 1402-1403, with the follow-ups, we secured a major part of the fertilizer and seed inputs, and we will not have any problems in this regard, and we assure the farmers and the people that we will not have any problems in the matter of providing the inputs."
