The Pricing Council currently has no plans to change the guaranteed purchase rate
The Deputy Minister of Jihad Agriculture said: Currently, the pricing council has no plan to change the guaranteed purchase rate of wheat, and the issues raised in this regard are rumors.
According to the economic reporter of Tasnim news agency, Alireza Mohajer, Deputy Minister of Jihad for Agriculture, stated: Fertilizer consumption in the country is half of the world and compared to developed countries, it is 40%. Of course, in some cases, the use of fertilizers may be higher, but in 98% of crops, especially wheat, we do not overuse, but we face underuse.
He added: If our product is returned from other countries, it is because the health protocols of the two countries do not match.
In response to the question of the reporter of Tasnim News Agency about the new review of wheat prices for the current crop year, the Deputy Minister of Jihad Agriculture for Agriculture Affairs stated: "No decision has been made yet and the decision is the same as it was."
He added: If a guaranteed wheat purchase rate is to be established, it will be officially announced, and the matter raised about the guaranteed wheat purchase rate is a rumor, and the pricing council has no plans in this regard at the moment.
He further said: Out of 18 million hectares of agricultural land, about 9.5 million hectares are rainfed, which includes agriculture, horticulture and fishing activities.
He continued: We must take care of the rainfed lands, which requires scientific, technical, promotional, educational measures, continuous follow-ups and a specific structure in order to increase performance per unit area and reduce costs.
The Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Ministry of Jihad and Agriculture stated: We must pay attention to the livelihood of rainfed farmers because they have weaker financial resources and special attention should be paid to them financially and economically. For this reason, during a process, a plan was prepared, which was worked on with the help of the executive staff of the order of the Imam and sent to the Agha. They also agreed to start this joint project three years ago.
He added: At the beginning of the project, we brought about 660 thousand hectares under this program on a trial basis and it had good results. These results were presented to Hazrat Agha and he said that it is a very good work and continue.
Mohajer further said: Last year this work was done on a larger scale and this year it is being implemented in 21 provinces of the country. For example, the indicators that we consider for rainfall, such as the amount of rainfall, should be enough that the crop we cultivate gives us a performance that can economically cover its costs.
Stating that the rainfed lands are scattered in the country, he said: "We have a number of provinces whose rainfall in the rainfed lands is less than 250 mm, and it is not possible to plant crops that can give an acceptable performance, and therefore they are considered pasture lands. we took. Therefore, the situation will be different.
Mohajer stated: This year, we were able to conclude a contract with the Agricultural Engineering System Organization to use a thousand graduates of the field of agriculture who have the necessary experience in the project, and with their training, we were able to transfer new technologies to the farmers in the rainfed fields.
He stated that one million and 400 thousand hectares of these lands have been insured so far, and added: Drought is one of the threats that threatens the lives of farmers in rainfed areas, and by doing this insurance, he has created a sense of security for the future of rainfed farmers. In addition, we prepared the latest research achievements of the world and the country in the form of instructions.
Deputy Minister of Jihad Keshavarzi continued: One of the problems of the Middle East and our country is soil erosion. But with the use of deep plows, we can prevent a lot of movement of tractors and tools in the field, because several jobs are done by the plows at the same time, and soil erosion is also prevented.
Mohajer added: We have about 2.5 million hectares of fallow land every year, which also causes soil erosion. To prevent these cases, we changed them from yellow fallow land to good conditions where the surface of the land is covered with green cover or fodder. Besides this, with the help of the National Bank, we were able to provide 500 billion tomans with 4% interest for agricultural tools to farmers, which we would not have been able to reach without the help of the executive headquarters of Farman Imam.
