Farmers do not want to produce.

A member of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Agricultural Guilds of Iran said: The price of 13 thousand tomans for the guaranteed purchase rate of wheat from farmers is unfair based on the actual costs of production.

Speaking to Tasnim, Kamran Saroqi stated: The government is obliged to determine basic agricultural products based on several components such as production costs in addition to conventional profit, inflation rate, world market price and exchange rate inside and outside the agricultural sector.

Referring to the guaranteed wheat purchase rate considered for the current crop year, he added: the price of 13 thousand tomans is unfair based on the actual production costs, and the price of wheat and other basic agricultural products should be determined in such a way that the farmer has a desire to produce.

The head of the Lorestan Agriculture and Natural Resources Trade Union Organization said: The price of wheat in the current state of the country's economy, high inflation and the high price of agricultural inputs such as fertilizers, fertilizers, seeds and the cost of agricultural machinery and other production components should be set at least 18 thousand tomans. Although most of the farmers are not satisfied with this price due to the high production costs.

He stated: Due to the high price of wheat in neighboring countries, dealers and middlemen will undoubtedly purchase cash at a higher price and there is a possibility of smuggling this strategic product.

Saroqi said: The high price of livestock and the requirement to provide fodder at any price will make farmers sell their wheat in the form of green surface to livestock farmers at a higher price if the government does not set a suitable price for purchase.

The member of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Agricultural Guilds of Iran pointed out that the Iraqi Minister of Agriculture has announced that he will buy wheat at the price of 850 thousand dinars per ton, which is 653 dollars, and clarified: this figure in Iranian rials is 32 thousand tomans per kilogram, which is the price difference Undoubtedly, it causes heavy smuggling of wheat from the borders of Iraq.

Saroqi stated: With the possibility of a global crisis in the field of wheat and the problems that have arisen for the countries that supply surplus wheat, the price of wheat should be increased in a fair manner and the export and smuggling of wheat outside the borders of the country should be seriously prevented.
